Employee Feedback

Disaster Program Manager in Houston - TX, Texas
05-17-2025
In addition to working normal business hours, we are required to work meetings in the evenings and events on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as respond to disaster calls (from house fires to huge disasters) 24/7. It is very difficult to take vacation, and even if we are allowed to take a day off, we might have to return to work. Also required to take several 12 hour shifts a month outside of office

The job position requires workers to respond to disasters. Disaster occurs at sporadic times, often being unpredictable. In addition to working 9-5pm, often times workers would need to stay after hours or work weekends for certain projects. This creates a work environment that is difficult to maintain a work-life balance. Burnout rate at this position is quite high.
