Our Commitment to Privacy

At WorkClear, LLC, (“WorkClear”) we respect and protect the privacy of our Users and Members. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your information.

Capitalized terms shall have the meanings assigned to such terms in the WorkClear Terms of Use, and this Privacy Policy is part of the Terms of Use.

YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION MAY BE PROCESSED IN THE COUNTRY WHERE IT WAS COLLECTED AS WELL AS OTHER COUNTRIES (INCLUDING THE UNITED STATES) WHERE LAWS REGARDING PROCESSING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION MAY BE LESS STRINGENT THAN THE LAWS IN YOUR COUNTRY.

What information do we collect?

We may collect certain personal and non-personal information from you, depending on how you use our Site and Service.

Non-personal information includes information that can’t be used to personally identify you as an individual, such as:

  • anonymous usage data
  • general demographic information
  • referring/exit pages and URLs
  • platform types
  • preferences you submit
  • preferences generated based on the data you submit
  • number of clicks
  • computer type

Personal Information includes your name, image, email address, credit card numbers, street address, and billing address.

We may use your public IP address to detect your location, so that we know where our potential Members are coming from and to aid in the process of checking certain information submitted by Members, including reviews and postings. (As noted in our Terms of Use, WorkClear does not make any claims as to the accuracy of submitted reviews, postings, or other information and disclaims all liability for such inaccuracies in postings by Users.) Also, our Service or certain content may not be available in all areas.

If you create an Account linked to a social media account or other third party account, we’ll collect additional information linked to this third party account if you allow WorkClear to access this.

To set up an Account and become a Member you will be asked to create a user name and password; if so, we will store this information.

If you sign up for paid Service, we will collect your credit card number, date, and the name on your card, your company name (if applicable), and your billing address.

Any information you share publicly – for example in a review – will be viewable by anyone (including past, current, or future employers), so don’t share any personal information that you don’t want everyone to see. You will be able to post reviews anonymously; however, others may be able to deduce who you are from the information you post.

We do not intentionally collect or maintain information about Users of the Service who are under 18 years old, and the Service and Site are not intended for anyone younger than 18.

How do we use your information?

Information we collect from you might be used:

  • to personalize your experience
  • to improve our Site or Service
  • to improve our customer service
  • to perform marketing analytics
  • to send you emails, blogs, surveys, or news or otherwise communicate with you
  • for marketing purposes

How can you stop receiving communications from us?

You can prevent us from contacting you for marketing purposes.  When we send a promotional communication to you, you can opt out of further promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in each such email.  

Please note that notwithstanding the promotional preferences you indicate we may continue to send you administrative emails including, for example, periodic updates to our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.

What about links to other websites?

We may provide links to or compatibility with other websites or applications.  However, we’re not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those websites or the information or content they contain.  

How do we protect your information?

We use appropriate physical, electronic, and other procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. However, please be aware that the Internet is an inherently unsafe environment, and that hackers are constantly working to defeat security measures.

Thus, we cannot guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed, and you accept this risk.

How can you protect your information?

For reasons of your data security, we strongly urge you not to use the same username and/or password with multiple sites and services, as breach of one account may jeopardize the security of your other accounts.

We urge you to take steps to keep your personal information safe by not disclosing/sharing your password and/or username and by logging out of your Account after each use.  

How can you delete your account?

You may request that your Account be terminated and that your Personal Information be deleted by sending an email to questions@workclear.com or through the Contact Us page. Any termination of your Account may involve deletion of your Account information from our live databases and all the information and data stored for such Account in the Service. WorkClear will not have any liability whatsoever to you for any termination of your Account or related deletion of you information.

When we delete Personal Information that we have collected from or about you, it will be deleted from our active databases but may remain in our archives.

Do we use cookies?

Yes. Cookies are small files that include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies let us recognize your browser and remember certain information about you in order to personalize your experience of our Site and Service.

We also use cookies to compile aggregate data about traffic to our Site so that we can improve our Site and Service.

We may use both persistent and session cookies; persistent cookies remain on your computer after you close your session and until you delete them; session cookies expire when you close your browser.  

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal information for commercial or marketing purposes.

We may share some or all of your Personal Information with any parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under a common control (collectively, “Affiliates”), in which case we will require our Affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.

We may need to share your personal information with vendors or contractors who provide services for us, subject to appropriate security agreements.

We will, if required by a valid court order, provide your personal information in a civil or criminal proceeding, after giving you notice of the request and an opportunity to obtain a court order to block the release of this information.

We may (and you authorize us to) disclose information we have collected from and about you (including Personal Information) if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to (a) enforce our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy or (b) to protect and defend the rights or property of our company, our other Members, the Users of our Service, or third parties.

If we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be among the assets transferred.  You acknowledge and consent that such transfers may occur and are permitted by this Privacy Policy, and that any acquirer of our assets may continue to possess and use your personal information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.  

Your Consent

By visiting and exploring our Site, you consent to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t visit our Site.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page. We may also, but are not required to, send you an email notice if you provide us with your email address.

California Residents

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits Users and Members who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send us a message at questions@workclear.com. Please note that we’re only required to respond to one request per User each year.
